Two Vehicle Accident 10-21-16

On Friday October 21st at around 8:50pm the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Highway 71 north of Highway 9.

Arthur Nohl (77) of Hancock, MN was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 northbound when he struck a cow standing in the roadway.  The cow came to rest in the southbound lane.  Daniel Penkert (71) of Council Bluffs, IA was driving a 2007 Saturn Vue southbound when he also struck the cow.

Nohl was uninjured.  The damage to Nohl’s vehicle was estimated at $5,500.  Penkert was possibly injured and his two passengers sustained minor or non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The damage to Penkert’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and Paramedics, and Superior Fire and Rescue.
