Personal Injury Accident near Wahpeton 6-23-17

On June 23, 2017 at around 7:27pm, the DCSO assisted the Iowa State Patrol with a two-vehicle personal injury accident.  The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 86 and 190th Street by Wahpeton.

Robin Graettinger (53), of Muscatine, IA, was southbound on Highway 86.  Graettinger signaled to turn left but was unsure if it was her turn.  She hesitated before turning east towards Wahpeton.  As she was turning left, Timothy Conry (49), of Ruthven, IA, was behind Graettinger and was unable to stop before he hit the rear driver side of the vehicle.

Graettinger suffered possible injuries.  There were also four passengers in the vehicle.  Annabel Graettinger was seated in the center of the back seat and was suspected to have minor or non-incapacitating injuries.  Jack McNamara was seated in back on the driver’s side and was suspected to have minor or non-incapacitating injuries.  The other two passengers were uninjured.  Conry was also uninjured.

Graettinger was driving a 2017 Honda CRV.  The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $20,000.

Conry was driving a 2015 Volvo Semi Tractor and trailer.  No damage was estimated.  Conry was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.

The Iowa State Patrol and the DCSO was also assisted by the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire & Rescue, and the Lake Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
