Bicyclist Injured in Accident 9-2-17

On September 2nd, 2017 at around 8:29am, the DCSO responded to a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of 260th Street and 225th Avenue.

Anthony Colosimo (56), of Clive, was southbound on 225th Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of 260th Street.  Colosimo was riding a bicycle at the time.

Mitchel Johnson (16), of Spencer, was eastbound on 260th Street.  Johnson attempted to avoid hitting Colosimo but struck the bicycle on the back tire.  Johnson was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer.  Damage to the Explorer was estimated at $500.  Johnson reported no injuries.

Colosimo was suspected of minor or non-incapacitating injuries.  He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.  Damage to the bicycle was estimated at $2,000.
