Pitts Arrested on Drug Charges 11-10-17

On Friday, November 10th, at approximately 6:30pm, the Dickinson County Communications Center received a call in reference to a silver car, with Minnesota license plates, that was driving all over the road in the westbound lane of Highway 9, near the area of 270th Avenue in Dickinson County.

A deputy with the DCSO conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description a short time later in the 800 Block of Lake Street in Spirit Lake. Shauna Goodman (20) of Windom, MN was identified as the driver.  Cody Pitts (22) of Mountain Lake, MN was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. There was also a juvenile passenger in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.

During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Pitts admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Pitts was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver (Class D Felony)
  • Child Endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

Pitts was booked into the Dickinson County Jail without further incident. Pitts has since posted bond, which was set at $5,000.

Goodman was cited for no insurance and given a written warning for failure to obey stop sign.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department and the Dickinson County Communications Center.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
