Welfare Check Leads to Drug Charges 4-5-14

On April 5, 2014 at around 3:35pm, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a welfare check in the 1000 Block of Highway 9.  Upon further investigation, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana.  The deputy was then given permission to search the residence.  Located in the search was a jar containing 25 grams of marijuana.  Also located was several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Becky Glienke (42), Benjamin Meyerdirk (32), and Jonathan Larson (30) all from Lake Park were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lake Park Police Department and the Iowa DNR.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
