Airplane Makes an Emergency Landing

On August 13th, 2015 at around 6pm the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls about an airplane on the roadway in the 2900 block of A31 west of N14. One of the calls received was from the Storm Lake Airport advising that the airplane had to make an emergency landing.

The pilot, John Walker of Waterloo, ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing. Walker landed the airplane safely. The road was temporarily shut down while Walker went to get some fuel. After refueling the airplane, Walker flew the airplane to the Okoboji Airport.
