Semi Accident 10-30-15

On October 30, 2015 at around 5:19pm the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a trailer that had detached from the tractor and was is the ditch.  This was located at the intersection of 200th St and 300th Avenue.

Jamie Fury (36) of Armstrong was driving a 2015 Volvo semi pulling a trailer full of pig remains.  The semi and trailer are owned by Iowa Protein Transportation.  Fury was attempting to make a right turn onto 200th Street from 300th Avenue when the trailer tires dropped off of the roadway causing the trailer to rollover onto its right side.  The trailer then detached from the semi and spilled its contents.  Fury was not injured.  The total damage and loss of product was estimated at $25,000.  Fury was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Terril Fire Department and Randy’s Towing in Estherville.
