Two Vehicle Personal Injury Accident 8-13-18

On August 13, 2018 at around 4:10pm, the DCSO responded to a two-vehicle accident east of Superior near the intersection of Highway 9 and 150th Street.

Sandra Sunde (78), of Estherville, was eastbound on Highway 9 in the 3200 block.  Sunde then attempted to turn left onto 150th Street.

James Bishop (83), of Estherville, was westbound on Highway 9.  Bishop struck Sunde as she was turning onto 150th Street.  Sunde’s vehicle came to rest in the middle of the roadway.  Bishop’s vehicle went into the north ditch.

Both Sunde and Bishop sustained minor or non-incapacitating injuries.  Sunde was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Sunde was driving a 1988 Cadillac Eldorado.  The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $12,000.  Sunde was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn.

Bishop was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500.  The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $7,500.

The DCSO was assisted by the Dickinson County Emergency Management, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance, Superior Fire Department, Bob’s Repair & Tow, and Jennings.
