Personal Injury Accident in Terril Involving a Motorcycle - 5/28/16

On Saturday May 28th, 2016 at around 4:11pm the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a Fed Ex van in Terril.
Bryan Gifford (61) of Estherville was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson. Tyler Simington (27) of Ruthven was driving a Fed Ex van. Both vehicles were northbound on Schooley Street when Simington slowed to turn onto Adams Street. Gifford went to go around the van, but lost control in the process. The motorcycle went into the ditch and collided with a sign. Gifford was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare with incapacitating injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $10,000 and no damage estimated to the Fed Ex van.
The accident still remains under investigation.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Terril Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and Paramedics.
