Personal Injury Accident 5-1-21

On May 1, 2021 at around 12:49am, the DCSO responded to a vehicle rollover at the intersection of Highway 86 and North Sandpiper Dr.

Jake Huse (35), of Milford, was southbound on Highway 86 when he swerved to miss something on the roadway.  Huse then crossed the roadway and entered the east ditch striking a street sign, and hit an embankment at the intersection causing the vehicle to rollover.  The vehicle came to rest on its roof.  Huse was initially trapped in the vehicle but was freed by non-mechanical means.

Huse was suspected of receiving serious injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Healthcare by ambulance.  The 2006 GMC Sierra was considered to be totaled.

The DCSO was assisted by the Iowa DNR, LRH Ambulance, and Bob’s Auto Body.

The accident remains under investigation.
