On January 10, 2023 at around 5:59pm, the DCSO responded to a rollover accident at the intersection of Highway 71 and A43 (260th St).
Lori Danner (40), of Estherville, was southbound on Highway 71 driving a 2015 Toyota Rav 4. Danner was adjusting the radio. When Danner looked up, she noticed a vehicle in front of her turning west onto A43. The vehicle was a 2011 Ford F250 driven by Troy Visscher (50), of Milford. Danner swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting Visscher. Danner’s front passenger side of the vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of Visscher’s vehicle, causing Danner to roll. Danner’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels in the median of the intersection striking another vehicle that was stopped waiting to cross Highway 71 westbound. The vehicle at the intersection was a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Donald Sonich, (53) of Hartley.
Danner sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. No injuries were reported from Visscher or Sonich.
Danner was cited for following too closely.
The DCSO was assisted by the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire Department, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance, Boji Towing & Recovery, and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
